How To Make Chocolate Oreo Truffles
- Grind together the Oreo cookies with cream cheese until everything is combined enough to make balls.
- Pop the balls into the freezer. You need them to be hard so they are easy to handle. But don't freeze for more than an hour.
- Then dip them in chocolate. You can use white, semi-sweet or dark chocolate.
- If you want to decorate with crushed Oreos then do immediately after dipping in chocolate so the crumbs stick. Otherwise let the chocolate set and drizzle with extra chocolate.
- You can also decorate with nuts, sprinkles or cocoa powder.

Servings: truffles
Ingredients
- 200 g Oreos approx. 18 cookies
- 120 g cream cheese
- 150 g white cooking chocolate
- 50 g semi-sweet/dark cooking chocolate for decoration
Instructions
- Roughly crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor. Or put them in a ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin. Reserve a tablespoon of the crushed cookies for decoration.
- Add the cream cheese to the remaining cookies and pulse 2-3 times. Or just mix with a spatula in a bowl.
- Line a plate with a wax paper. Make small balls of approximately 20g each and put on the plate. Pop in the freezer for 30 mins.
- Meanwhile, melt the white cooking chocolate. Chop the chocolate pieces roughly and put in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave with 30 second intervals and stir in between until all of it is melted. Add a teaspoon or more of vegetable oil if the glaze is too thick. Repeat the same process to melt the semi-sweet/dark chocolate.
- Let the glaze cool for 4-5 mins. Line another plate with wax paper.
- Take the Oreo balls out of the freezer. Dip in the white chocolate. Use a fork to hold the ball and another spoon to evenly pour chocolate over it. Set aside on the plate.
- Immediately sprinkle crushed Oreos while the chocolate is wet. If you want to drizzle semi-sweet/dark chocolate wait 5 minutes for the white chocolate to set.
- Freeze the Oreo balls for 15 mins before serving.
Notes
These truffles can be made ahead of time and kept in the fridge. They last for 1-2 weeks. Don’t keep them at room temperature or the chocolate will melt. They can also be frozen in an airtight container for around 2 months.
